Estética azteca de las danzas concheras. Tradiciones exóticas o memorias re-descubiertas.
Abstract
The Aztec aesthetics of the Conchero dances. Exotic traditions or re-discovery of memories. The article reconstructs the historical aesthetic transformations in the conchero dance and its appropriation by the dancers to legitimize indigenous traditions. These appropriations make sense to the dancers’ identity by way of highlighting the historical changes that allow the preservation, transformation, revival or reinvention of this “indigenous” tradition. The historical reconstruction has been made through the analysis of oral traditional dancer testimonies, photographic family albums and historical records.
