Abstract
The 1930 decade had events that outlined what we know today as the Mexican national state and witnessed many movements by women seeking to assert their opinions, needs and social rights in the social conglomerate. It was a moment of national reconstruction and rebuilding gender identities of men and women. The purpose of this study is to analyze the social construction of female gender in the production of the nation from speeches made by women in the First National Congress of Workers and Peasants in Mexico in 1931
