Abstract

The speech is one of the key policies in the development of state governance. In a political arena, where the government machine exercises authoritarian power and faces a conflict that unfolds at a critical juncture, its speech will reveal with great clarity the stakes ideological operations and strategies of symbolic construction to develop the sense of the event, justify its repressive practices and delegitimize the actions of the adversary. The following work focuses on the analysis of the Fourth Report of the Gustavo Diaz Ordaz government, highlighting how this political actor sees and confronts the student movement of 1968.
