Abstract

This conversation hovers over three fields: the work of the sociologist (its recent evolution in Mexico, its relationship to writing, and the experience of Roger Bartra), political culture (contemporary individualism, ethics and aesthetics, the myths of mestizo), and cultural journalism (centered on the experience of R.B. as director of La Jornada Semanal). These elements intermix to create a web where the main concern is the power relations in everyday life, and this is studied from a ludic and postmodern perspective.
