Abstract
In this article the author studies some of the new words and versions of the myth of the Virgin of Guadalupe, which have emerged with the expansion of the cultural industries in Mexico. She analyzes some comics, videos, expositions and the Second Visit of the Pope to Mexico in 1990. It is considered that it contributes to a better understanding of the actual political and religious strategies. The textual plurality of this myth and the polisemy of the symbol of the Virgin is taken into consideration.
