Estética de la identidad y sus paradojas
Abstract
We are talking about an aesthetics of identity because it is a sensitive experience that involves oneself, the other and the absent. There is an aesthetic side to Descartes cogito, implying also “a thing that feels”. The paradox of identity is that it is never identical to itself; it's the otherness of identity. But front point of view of the other (mother, father, priest, teacher, lover) the relativism of identity is terrifying. Identity is then searched through objects instead of subjects: stars, gods, rocks, the earth, history, discourse, names and numbers. But identity is historical, social and, partly, institutional today, identity circulates and is exchanged, it's produced and is on sale.
