The work of Greimas bears distinctive marks of his own life: his encounters with the work of V. Propp, L. Hjemslev, R. Jakobson, G. Dumézil and in particular C. Levi Strauss, left a perceptible trace in his books: From Structutal Semantics (1996) to Semiotiques des passions (1991) and in his latest work that will be published posthum ously in this very year: Dictionnairte du francais moyen.
