La dimensión política de la canción épica contemporánea
Abstract
The political dimension in contemporary epic songs. In this article the author analyzes a corpus of representative rock and “narcocorrido” songs taking as a starting point Castoriadis’ notion of instituted and radical imaginary. By choosing the above mentioned notion, she looks to answer a core question: to what extent does criticism of society proposed through the songs constitute the germ of a new radical imaginary? The author concludes that the analyzed songs do not represent any radical imaginary, since the narcocorrido confirms the values of power and money that govern the logic of the capitalist societies market, even though Rockdrigo’s folk rupestrian rock confronts the above mentioned values, it does not offer any alternative.
