Resonancias de fe
Los programas religiosos en la radio mexicana
Abstract
Resonances of faith: religious programs on Mexican radio. In contemporary societies religion is more subject to the effects of mass media, due not only to the frequency and interest with which the media now treat religious manifestations (in many cases a product of economic interests), but also to the importance which distinct religious groups give to the media as part of their evangelization programs. Based on empirical data gathered as part of my research on religious radio programs in Mexico, this article presents some reflections on the way in which the need for religion is construed in society and the manner in which the electronic media, among them the radio, present and promote it.
