El cine religioso y su apropiación ideológica en una sociedad católica

Abstract

The objective of this article is to analyze the impact of the film The Passion of Christ on a traditional Catholic society in northeastern Michoacán, by examining the social and cultural mediations that subjects derive from the film’s symbolic content as a means of producing ideological messages. The research was conducted using a discussion Group methodology in order to develop a vision that will help to problematize the study of ideology in the era of mass communications.
