Violencia discursiva y juego de lenguaje. El caso de la guardería ABC

Abstract

Starting off from the double definition of Wittgenstein’s term “language game” - seen as a plurality of entities that appear before the subject in his everyday life, a network that constitutes his feeling of certainty on the one hand, and his sense of the totality of language and existence on the other, this paper posits the theoretical proposition of inscribing this duality in the split between the ontic and the ontological as defined by Heidegger. This theoretical basis may be employed in the analysis of cases where subjects’ sense of certainty has been disrupted by some traumatic event. This paper examines the case of the fire at the ABC day-care center in Hermosillo, Mexico - that is, the discursive games that played out after the event, all the way up to the sentence passed by the Supreme Court. This paper will also clarify the concept of discourse as developed in Lacanian theory, which defines discourses as social links.
