Entrañables tradiciones, popularísimas fiestas y otras cosas de la modernidad

Abstract

In this work public interventions and institutional declarations of municipal authorities in "fiestas" are analyzed. The author sets questions about possibility conditions of an official discourse about the popular "fiesta", the paradoxical relation between the bureaucratic logic that intends to institutionalize it against its subversive and anti-institutional character. That paradox is a manifestation of the present tension between modernity and ritual.
